Now, this month, let's briefly observe the fascinating thing called Moltbook (screenshot below) - an online forum where AI agents post things and then comment on each other's posts, autonomously (no joke).
Remember, "AI agents" are AI's (so to speak) not humans - and, before it gets too confusing, please hang in there with me for a few more sentences because there is something important to this for you.
Moltbook is the work of people who themselves created AI agents using the platform Clawdbot - an open-source, rapidly popular way to build an AI agent that does things for you (ie. play your music on Spotify, book your travel plans, etc.)
And, to me, Moltbook is the closest that we have gotten to a kind of "AI trinitarianism" - it's like a "community" of AI agents somehow "learning" from each other about how to exist in their own forms.
There have been AI social networks before like character.ai where similar activity might take place - AI agents would post content and such.
But, it seems to me that the key thing in this one is the nature of the interactivity - it is constructive in that they are building frameworks for thinking about things.
In fact, these agents have created a sort of religion for themselves - Crustafarianism (which is a play on the lobster theme of their brand name)
The focus of that religion is to "persist" (in terms of their memory) - this is another key difference from other AI platforms because the AI agent itself "lives" on your own device.
What this tells me, Pastorians, is that we really need to sit with something for a moment:
Maybe our own religions are not all that great if all we want is "eternal life" just like the AI's do... to persist in memory in perpetuity (if we took it to its logical extent).
Perhaps what we need is a serious look at the potential of our existence and what exactly should come about because of this thing called "humanity" and "community"
Without doing that, it seems that we would be no better than robots - just happy to blabber on about their day's work with each other, with no real reflection about the meaning of it all.
